Drinking alcohol after getting off Amitriptyline (Elavil) how long do I have to wait?

I have been on the persciption drug Elavil (Amitriptyline) for 3 months. My doctor said not to drink alcohol while on this drug.

I was on the lowest dosage 10 mg for being able to sleep at night. I have decided to get off it and have not taken my pill in 10 days.

When can I drink alcohol again to where its safe and out, considering my dosage amount? Theres a big party coming up in a few days and I would like to drink that night.
